Searching for web development in Athens usually means two things at once: you want a partner who understands the Greek market, and you do not want to pay twice — once for a polished template and again, two years later, to rebuild it properly.

This article does not promise search rankings. It describes what to ask for before you sign, so the site is fast, maintainable and useful for sales. For what our service includes, see web development.

What should decide the quote

A serious quote for a corporate site is not a “5 pages / 1 form / 1 month” package. You need at least:

  • Who writes the code and who answers when something breaks after launch
  • Who owns the repository, the domain and the hosting credentials
  • How the move from the old site happens without cutting URLs that already bring traffic
  • What “done” means: mobile speed, forms, basic technical SEO, backups

If those points are not written down, you are paying for hope. For how to assess a software partner more generally, see the seven questions before you sign.

Local studio or remote?

An office in Aigaleo or Athens helps when you want a meeting in person and when the partner needs to know Greek tax and payment providers. It does not guarantee quality by itself. Ask how they work remotely: a written scope, a staging environment you can open, and regular deliveries you can actually see.

We also work with clients outside Attica. Location is context — not a slogan.

WordPress or custom?

For a content site that changes often, WordPress is a reasonable choice. For an application with roles, bookings, payments or an ERP link, a custom build is usually safer and cheaper to maintain. The test is not fashion; it is what you will pay every month in plugins, updates and emergency fixes.

If the project is a system rather than a brochure, look at custom software.

Technical SEO without the fluff

Technical SEO on a new site is dull and specific: unique titles and descriptions, stable URLs, a sitemap, canonicals, the right language and structured data that describe the business — not stuffed keywords in every paragraph.

Mobile speed matters in practice: if the page is slow, the visitor leaves before reading your offer. We wrote separately about how Core Web Vitals affect speed and sales.

What to ask for at handover

Before the project closes, ask for a walkthrough on a phone, access to Search Console, a list of 301 redirects if there was an old site, and written instructions for the edits you will make yourselves. If you are told “we will look at SEO afterwards”, you have already missed the cheapest time to do it properly.

When the site also has to talk to myDATA or a payment provider, the conversation is no longer about appearance. Start from system integrations.
