On 3 November 2026 Liquid ecosystem updates said bitcoin reserves again fully backed L-BTC one-to-one (about 4,270 BTC on both sides) after an exploit on the order of $320 million. Blockstream helped replenish reserves. Direct federation peg-outs remained restricted pending further security controls, while some swap services continued with queues.
What it means: Restoring the peg helps bitcoin sidechain users needing liquidity, but ongoing peg-out limits show operational trust does not return automatically with reserve coverage. Greek firms or funds with L-BTC exposure must separate accounting backing from the real ability to exit to on-chain bitcoin. Counterparty and withdrawal-limit checks are needed before treasury flows resume. This is not a recommendation to hold L-BTC or bitcoin. For Greek businesses and public bodies this means a practical review of contracts, timelines and compliance duties, and it is not investment or legal advice. IT, finance and compliance teams should document owners, review cycles and fallback processes before wider adoption or a vendor change.
