Simeiomatarion is a fast, native text and code editor for macOS on Apple silicon, made by STREAMCODE Ε.Ε. It is free and open source software, released under the GNU General Public License v3.0.

Frequently asked questions

Does Simeiomatarion need an internet connection or an account?

No. The app works fully offline and has no sign-in. It does not send your files or any usage data anywhere. See the privacy policy.

Why does macOS ask me to choose a file or folder?

The Mac App Store version runs in the macOS App Sandbox. The app can only open files and folders that you pick, for example in the Open dialog or by dragging them onto the app. This is a macOS security rule that protects your data.

Where can I find the version I am running?

Open the Simeiomatarion menu and choose About Simeiomatarion. Please include that version number when you contact support.
