Skyfire and Forter have expanded their partnership so that Forter's fraud platform accepts Skyfire's Know Your Agent tokens. The tokens carry verified details about the AI agent making a purchase and the person who authorised it. This lets merchants tell authorised agents apart from malicious bots without changing the checkout page. The companies say a pilot at retailer Jomashop achieved almost complete success for agent-made purchases with no extra chargebacks.

What it means: For years e-commerce fraud systems followed a simple rule: anything that looks automated is suspicious. AI agents buying on behalf of customers upset that logic, because a legitimate purchase can now come from a machine. If a merchant blocks them all, it loses sales, and if it accepts them all, it invites fraud. The approach being tested is verified identity for the agent and the person behind it, a kind of KYC for machines. For Greek online shops this is not yet a daily issue, but large payment and card providers are already building the standards, so it will arrive through the platforms they use. It is worth asking the payment or fraud provider how it plans to handle agent purchases and who carries liability if such a purchase is disputed. In Europe, PSD2 strong customer authentication adds another factor, since an agent cannot simply bypass a check the law requires. Who pays when an agent exceeds its mandate is still an open question and one that will occupy regulators too.
