Rebill, a payment infrastructure company from Argentina, closed a 5.4 million dollar round, taking its total funding to more than 9 million since 2020. Vercel founder Guillermo Rauch invested again, and the company is already backed by investors such as Tiger Global and Y Combinator. Rebill lets a company collect payments as if it were local in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico and the US, without setting up an entity in each country. The new money will support two new services: multi-currency treasury with supplier payouts, and branded payments for platforms and marketplaces.
What it means: Rebill tackles a problem Greek software and digital-service companies know well when they try to sell outside Europe: to accept instalments, local transfers or wallets, they usually need a local company, agreements with banks and adjustment to other rules. Merchant-of-record or local-collection providers remove that obstacle, at the cost of fees. For a Greek SaaS or education platform with customers in Latin America, a comparison is worthwhile: what local collection costs compared with cards, how fast money reaches Greece and who handles local taxes and documents. On the Greek side, revenue has to be invoiced correctly and reported to myDATA, and the relationship with the provider must be clear about who the seller is towards the customer. The report that active merchants quadrupled during 2026 shows demand for such infrastructure is strong. For Greek fintechs, the example shows that a modest funding round can be enough to build specialised infrastructure for a region, provided the company solves a specific and painful problem.
