According to Search Engine Roundtable, which brings together recent data from Semrush, SE Ranking and seoClarity, AI Overviews now appear on more than 80% of Google searches. The share was around 50% in June of last year. Figures vary by tool and keyword type: SE Ranking measured 82.5% on US brand searches, while seoClarity found over 62% overall, ranging from 55% to 84% by industry. The numbers are not directly comparable with each other.

What it means: For most searches the AI answer now sits above the classic results, and that changes how businesses earn visits from Google. Users often get their answer without clicking, so traffic from informational queries will probably keep falling. At the same time, pages cited as sources inside the overview gain a lot of visibility. For a Greek business the practical response is to write pages that answer one specific question clearly and early, with concrete facts such as prices, deadlines, steps and the business name. Structured data, an up-to-date Google Business profile and genuine customer reviews also help these systems understand who you are. Greek results may differ from US ones, since most measurements cover the United States, so it is worth tracking your own figures in Search Console and comparing impressions with clicks page by page. If impressions hold steady while clicks drop, the cause is probably the overviews rather than rankings, and content strategy needs to adapt.
