Singapore's Qashier, which provides POS and payment systems to small businesses, launched QashierGM, an AI assistant that works like a general manager. It uses the shop's sales, payout and menu data to answer questions and spot trends. Owners and staff can call it with @GM inside team chats, with permissions set by role. It is free in Singapore and expands to Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines in November.
What it means: POS providers around the world are trying to turn transaction data into useful advice for owners, and Qashier shows a practical version: the assistant lives inside the chat the team already uses, rather than in yet another reporting screen. For Greek restaurants, cafés and small shops the idea fits well, since owners rarely have time to study dashboards. Questions such as which dish sold least this week, when card payouts arrive or which hour needs more staff can be answered in seconds. In Greece, though, such a tool must respect the framework of fiscal devices and myDATA, so that its reports match what has been sent to AADE. There is a personal data angle as well: shift and staff performance data need care and clear information for employees. Role-based permissions matter, because a waiter should not see the business's financial figures. For Greek hospitality software vendors, the message is that an AI assistant is becoming a core feature rather than a luxury, and that bundling it free could become the norm in the market.
